Agreement ratified by members at Atikokan Foods

Atikokan Foods members ratify new collective agreementRetail grocery workers at Atikokan Foods have achieved a new agreement.

Those Atikokan Foods employees at minimum wage receive an increase of 2.2% or a raise equivalent to the Rate of Inflation, whichever is greater. The top rate for Meat Cutters improves by $2.14 per hour over the duration of the agreement. Top rate for Food Service workers will increase by $2.11 per hour over the contract term. A new premium for Lead Hand will provide an additional $2 per hour worked as such. The employer will reimburse employees $20 for the purchase of two pairs of dress pants.

Bereavement leave for part-time workers now provides three days’ paid leave, as well as internment language.

The 22-member bargaining unit secured their new agreement at a ratification meeting on October 1, 2018.
