Valhalla Hotel ratifies

Valhalla Hotel ratifies wage improvements and pension contribution increases with new collective agreement.
The members employed by Silver Hotel working in Thunder Bay at the Valhalla Hotel and Conference Centre ratified a three-year agreement on August 1, 2024. The wages will increase 10.5% over the term of the contract. Minimum wage gap language was also negotiated and will be included in the language of the agreement.
The employer contribution to the pension plan will increase by one cent per hour to $0.55.
Other improvements include:
- Unused sick days to be paid out at 50%.
- An increase to the vision care coverage to $200.00
- Immediate family bereavement leave will increase from 3 to 4 days.
