Orbis Canada ratifies

Orbis Canada ratifies yearly wage increases and improvements to language and benefits with new collective agreement.
Orbis Canada workers in Toronto ratified a three-year agreement on April 2, 2025. Wages for the members will increase in Year 1 – 4%, Year 2 – 4% and Year 3 – 3%. The night shift premium will increase by 25 cents.
Other monetary improvements include an increase to the dental benefits, the eye glass benefit increases by $100 to $500, there will be a $50.00 increase to the safety shoe allowance to $250.00 with the ability to replace if they are damaged.
Language improvements include:
- Break relief stipend increased by $1.00.
- Remembrance Day will be added to the list of paid holidays.
- One paid sick day.
- Bereavement day for Aunt, Uncle, niece and nephew – two unpaid days.
- The employer now has 60 days to post jobs and move the successful member to the position.
- The vacation submission time extended by 15 days.
- The employer contribution to the Training and Education Fund will increase to $300.00.
- Members now have the ability to have an additional worker off on vacation as previously there could only be one.
