Metro Sturgeon Falls ratifies

Metro Sturgeon Falls ratifies wage increases and an improved benefit plan for retail grocery workers.
The retail workers at Metro in Sturgeon Falls ratified a four-year agreement on March 18, 2025. Wages improve for full-time workers by $3.55 over the term of the agreement, and wages for part-time members at end rate increase to MW+$2.00 by the end of the term. Workers will also receive signing bonuses of $150 for full-time, $100 for part-time with more than two years of service and $50 for part-time who have less than two years of service.
We were successful in achieving a new modernized benefit plan that will include full paramedical benefits, improved life, AD&D and travel benefits. The employee contribution will also be reduced to 30% from 40%.
Language advances include:
- Bereavement leave improvement.
- Evening scheduling limitations for full-time.
- Departmental transfer language.
- Rain and Winter coats allowance for applicable employees.
