New Union Stewards for Locals 175 & 633 in the Ottawa area took part in a day of training on March 11, 2019.
The introductory course informed our newest volunteer Stewards about their role and responsibilities as they work to represent their co-workers in the workplace.
Eighteen members attended the day-long instruction, facilitated by Union Reps Shannon Epp and Jacques Niquet. The Stewards were from:
- Metro Blackburn,
- Loblaws 1051,
- Metro Merivale,
- Parent’s YIG,
- Food Basics 662,
- Food Basics 869,
- Avis,
- Canadian Forces Support Unit (CFSU) Ottawa,
- Metro Island Park,
- Ross’s YIG,
- Metro Ogilvie, and;
- Metro Beechwood.
Thank you to everyone for your participation and for taking the time to further your skills to better protect your co-workers through enforcement of your collective agreement.

Get to know your Union Steward(s) at work. They volunteer a lot of their own time to make sure every one of your co-workers gets to come to a safe, healthy workplace where Union members benefit from all the provisions of their collective agreement.
