Members at Wadland Pharmacy in Northern Ontario ratify new deal

Wadland Pharmacy members in Sudbury, Muskoka, Timmins and Kirkland Lake ratified a new five-year deal on February 8, 2022.
Wage increase for full-time members are as follows: Year 1 & 2 – $.30/hour, Year 3, 4 and 5 – $.40/hour. Part-time members at or above end rate: Year 1 and 2 – $.25/hour, Year 3 – $.30/hour, Year 4 – $.35/hour and Year 5 – $.40/hour.
Part-time who are in the wage progression will be placed on the minimum wage plus grid, end rate will be minimum wage plus $1.80. Part-time who are at or above end rate will receive: $.25 per hour retroactive to date of expiry, $.25 per hour in 2022, $.30 per hour in 2023, $.35 per hour in 2024 and $.40 per hour in 2025.
Pension improvements include a new 100% employer paid RRSP of $400 per year for full-time members. This was a significant and long fought for win by the members.
Health and Welfare benefit improvements will see the employer contributions increase in 2024 from $.60 to $.61 and in 2025 $.61 to $.62 per hour for full-time. Part-time contributions by the employer increase in 2024 from $.50 to $.51 and in 2025 from $.51 to $.52 per hour. Employee contributions stay the same.
