Dresden Industrial ratifies

Dresden Industrial ratifies wage increases and language improvements with new collective agreement.
Workers in Ridgetown at Dresden Industrial ratified a three-year deal on December 8, 2024.
Members will receive wage increases of:
- Operator: Year 1 – 10%, Year 2 – 2.5% and Year 3 – 2.45 %.
- Posted position: Year 1 – 9%, Year 2 – 2.3% and Year 3 – 2.25%.
- Skilled trades: Year 1 – 1.7% (with a previous wage adjustment on $5/hr), Year 2 – 1.69%, and Year 3 – 1.65%.
There will also be a $1250 lump sum payment for all active employees.
The workers have elected to move to a new group RRSP and the employer will contribute $1.23 per hour for all hours worked for all eligible employees.
Language improvements include:
- Members now have the ability book single vacation days for one week of their vacation if they are at four-week entitlement.
- There will be an increase to the tool allowance from $570 to $700.
- Increase to the employer contribution to the Training & Education Fund from 4 cents to 5 cents per hour.
- Language was added to allow for union meetings on site for steward elections, JHSC committee elections, etc.
