Dr. Oetker ratifies wage increases, improved language and additional stat holiday with new contract.

On December 7, 2024, the membership at Dr. Oetker in London ratified a new collective agreement with a 3.5-year term.

Members will receive wage increases of: Year 1 – Maintenance – $4.00/hour, Warehouse and General Labour – $2.15/hour, all other classifications – $1.50/hour, Year 2 – $0.50, Year 3- $0.50, Year 3.5 – $0.35. Members will also receive a $1000.00 lump sum payment.

Language improvements include:

  • Extra statutory holiday for Christmas Eve.
  • There will be an increase to the Boot allowance of $25.00.
  • Bereavement days may be used within one year of the death.
  • Improved vacation entitlement after 10 years; an important improvement for these workers.
  • Vacation will be approved in writing within 14 days of a request. 
  • There will be extra union boards put up in all lunch rooms.  
  • A locked union question box for stewards will be added to the main lunch room.
