Lococo Wholesale ratifies

Lococo Wholesale ratifies significant wage increases, benefit and language improvements with new collective agreement.
On January 25, 2025, the retail grocery workers at Lococo Wholesale Limited in Hamilton unanimously ratified a three-year agreement.
All employees will receive a $1.50 wage adjustment effective October 2024 (prior to the expiry of the previous agreement). The deal secures wage increases of: Date of ratification – MW+ $2.95 for all full and part-time workers in progression, and MW+ $3.70 for all full-time supervisors. In each of three years of the term, top rate employees will receive hourly increases of 70 cents.
In benefit improvements the Health Care Spending account increases from $400 to $500 which is an addition to a fully paid benefit plan already in place. Dental reimbursement increases from $1500 to $2000 during the term of the agreement.
Language improvements include:
- Vison Care increases from $250 to $300.
- Menstrual products supplied by the employer at no cost.
- Safety Footwear allowance increases to $150 annually.
- Workers are now guaranteed stat holiday pay minimums of eight hours for full-time and four hours for part-time.
- There will be a $500 Long Service Recognition Bonus paid annually for full and part-time employees with over 10 years seniority.
- Full and part-time workers will receive an additional personal day for a total of three paid per year.
- NEW – a fifth week of vacation entitlement paid at 10% for employees with 18 years seniority.
- Vacation carryover is now available for up to one year. Workers can carryover unused vacation to the following year for use anytime or cash out as vacation pay.
- The employer contribution to the Training and Education fund will increase to $1000 annually.
- Collective Agreement printing will be 100% employer paid,
