Country Estates ratifies

Country Estates ratifies wage increases, language improvements and additional monetary gains with new collective agreement.
The HOPE Sector members at Country Estates Retirement Home in Lindsay unanimously ratified a two-year agreement on June 16, 2025.
Wages for these healthcare workers will increase in Year 1 ranging from 5.1% – 5.2%, and in Year 2 – 3.5%. A new classification will also be introduced of Head Cook with a premium of 50 cents per hour; this was a significant and sought after achievement for these members.
Language improvement and gains include:
- An additional two days of bereavement leave and the option to delay one day until a later time.
- A fifth week of vacation entitlement was achieved.
- There will now be a weekend and night shift premium of 10 cents per hour.
- An additional float day was also negotiated.
