Caressant Care Listowel ratifies wage increases, benefit improvements and language gains with new collective agreement.

The healthcare workers at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Listowel ratified a two-year agreement on May 28, 2025. These HOPE Sector members will receive general wage increases in each year of the agreement of 3.5%. Additionally, RPNs will receive a special wage adjustment of $1.00 per hour in each year applied prior to the general wage increase.

The weekend premium will increase by 20 cents per hour over the term of the agreement, and a new PSW lead position with an increased rate will be added.

Benefit improvements will see employer dental contributions increase from 40 cents to 46 cents.  

Language improvements include:

  • Optical coverage increases to $375 every 24 months.
  • Maternity top up language will be added.
  • A second float day was achieved.
  • Improvement to coverage for the annual RPN registration fees.
  • Paid reporting time language improved.
  • Language for stat pay calculation improved.
  • Improved pay error repayment language.
  • Nurses now have language for single day vacation usage.
