Cargill London avoids strike and ratifies a new deal

The members at Cargill in London ratified a new four-year agreement on March 30, 2022 avoiding a labour dispute.
Increases will include a $500 lump sum payment and $1.50/hour at date of ratification retroactive for all hours worked from June 4, 2021 for all active employees. Maintenance will see an increase at date of ratification of $2.00. Year 2 – $0.50, Year 3 -$0.50, Year 4 -$0.50.
Lead hand and machine operator premium will increase $0.50/hr. Material handler premium will increase $0.50/hr and maintenance afternoon shift premium $1.00/hr.
Other improvements include language for timelines on receiving discipline and temporary job postings. All employees will now be eligible for the boot allowance of $160/year, and bereavement leave from 4 to 5 days.
