Polar Pak ratifies wage increases and numerous language improvements with new collective agreement.
The membership at Polar Pak in Brampton ratified a three-year agreement on November 12 and 13, 2024. Wages for the members will increase for all classifications in Year 1 – $2.60 per hour, Year 2 – 2.5% and Year 3 – 2.5%.
Language improvements include:
Bereavement leave will increase from three days to four days for immediate family.
Vision care allowance increases from $250 to $300.
New – $300 for prescription safety glasses in addition to the standard vision care coverage.
Massage and acupuncture coverage increases from $200 to $300 per year.
There will be an Increase to the night shift premium over the term from $0.75 to $0.95 per hour.
The yearly loyalty bonus will increase.
New – sunset clause.
Overtime to be paid after 42 hours for those working 40 hours a week.
Members will now have the ability to use floater days as sick days with no advance notice requirement.
