Compass Group KGH ratifies significant wage increases, night shift premium and language improvements with new collective agreement.
The Compass Group Canada members at Kingston General Hospital ratified a three-year agreement on November 12, 2024.
All classifications at the twelve-month rate will receive wage increases in Year 1 between 3% – 5%, Year 2 – 2.75%, and Year 3 – 2.75%,
Language was secured to ensure that should the employer opt to change benefit providers; the benefit coverage will still be equal or better.
Language improvements include:
- All Employees who are assigned to work the majority of their hours between 7pm and 7am shall receive an overnight premium of $1.00 per hour.
- Full and part-time members with seven or more years of service will receive a Float Day.
- New – Letter of understanding re: Menstrual products available in the workplace.
- Employer to implement the “Employer Transpass Program” available through the City of Kingston where employees may purchase at a bus pass at a significantly discounted rate, through payroll deduction. This was a sought after and important win for the membership
- Employer will contribute $500 to the UFCW Training and education fund.
