Wholesale Club members in Sault Ste. Marie ratify new agreement

On February 11, 2026, the membership at Wholesale Club in Sault Ste. Marie ratified a new collective agreement that includes wage increases, and enhanced health and welfare coverage.

Full-time employees will see increases totalling $4.50 per hour over the life of the agreement. The first increase of $1.50 per hour will be paid retroactively for hours worked since expiry of the previous agreement. In addition, these members will receive a signing bonus of $800.

Part-time employees at the end rate receive increases totalling $3.25 per hour over the agreement term. Retroactive pay will provide $1.00 per hour worked since expiry of the previous agreement as well. These members will also see a signing bonus of $400.

The employer will now match $750, up from $600, of employee contributions to their Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).

New benefits introduced now provide full-time employees with optical and extended coverage for physiotherapy, massage, naturopath, etc. Part-time employees now have a benefit plan to cover prescription drugs.

Members also benefit from an improved safety footwear allowance which is now $140 per year.

This collective agreement covers 15 full and part-time retail grocery workers at the Wholesale Club in Sault Ste. Marie.
