CareRX members in Sudbury secure three-year agreement

The members working at CareRX in Sudbury ratified a new three-year collective agreement recently.

Members benefit from increased start rates and improvements throughout the wage grid. End rates improve by 2.95% in year one, 2.9% in year two, and 3.8% in year three. In addition, members receive the following lump sum signing bonus payments:

  • End rate – $550 as of ratification, $300 in December 2026, and $300 in December 2027.
  • In Progression – $350 as of ratification, $200 in December 2026, and $200 in December 2027.

Call-out pay increases to four hours’ minimum, instead of the previous three hours.

Vacation entitlement improves to includes a sixth week after 25 years with the employer. Members may also now carry over vacation time, up to 40 hours, to April 30 of the following calendar year.

Further significant language improvements include a reduction of the sunset clause to 12 months, down from 24 months, and the employer will now provide access to free menstrual products to all employees.

The employer will pay $150, up from $100, toward the cost of printing collective agreements for the members. In addition, the employer will now contribute $600 over the life of the agreement to the UFCW Local 175 Training & Education Fund.
