The UFCW Young Workers Internship Program (YIP) came to Ontario from July 7 – 11, 2025!

Ten activists from UFCW Locals 175 & 633 took part in this year’s UFCW Young Workers Internship Program, which is an opportunity for young leaders in the Union to explore workers’ rights, labour history, and politics, plus gain some hands-on experience.

This year’s participants from UFCW Locals 175 & 633 (in no particular order) were Colby and Jun from Zehrs, Felicia and Shameela from Canna Cabana, Raden from Westfort Foods, Nikki from Metro, Kaci from Karis Disability Services, Caitlin from Caressant Care, Asma from Fortinos, and Paul Cedric from The Barn Markets.

Thank you to all of our participants in this year’s UFCW Young Workers Internship Program for your curiosity and engagement over the week. We hope this program provided you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence you need to continue becoming leaders in the labour movement.
