Members at TransNorthern Pipelines have achieved a new collective agreement that will see them through the next three years.

This round of bargaining was difficult as the employer was unwilling to increase wages for the members. As a result, the Union Negotiating Committee requested the assistance of a Conciliation Officer to get beyond the impasse and secure a solid agreement for these members.

The ratified collective agreement contains wage gains of 3% in year one, 2% in year two, and 3% in year three. Members will also receive a one-time bonus of $200.

Further improvements ensure that overtime will be paid on worked holidays, and training now pays a minimum of four hours at 1.5 times the rate.

The employer will contribute a one-time increased payment of $1,650 toward the UFCW Local 175 Training & Education Fund, plus $1,500 in each of the remaining years of the agreement term.

Union Negotiating Committee: Sal Al-Rubaiee, Johnny Fou, and Union Representative Christina Mayberry.
