Sudbury RCSS ratifies

Sudbury RCSS ratifies significant wage increases, and secures improved benefit coverage.
Members in Sudbury at RCSS ratified a five-year agreement on September 8, 2024.
The deal secures significant wage increases and full-time workers at end rate will receive $6.65/hour over the term of the agreement. There will also be a $1,000 signing bonus for all full-time members.
At ratification the end rate for part-time workers will increase to $18.30 then on October 1, 2025 – MW plus $1.20, October 1, 2026 – MW plus $1.30, October 1, 2027 – MW plus $1.40, and October 1, 2028 – MW plus $1.50. Part Time workers will receive signing bonuses based on hours worked: 6501+ hours – $500, workers with 2000+ hours – $200, and all other part-time- $100.
During negotiations it was confirmed that the Ontario Real Canadian Superstore improvements have been applied to the Sudbury Superstore benefits program.
Other language improvements include:
- Safety footwear allowance increased to $150 for full-time and $100 for part-time.
- The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be added to the list of paid holidays.
- Bereavement leave for the relations listed in section (a) will increase from four to five days.
- Niece, nephew, grand parent-in-law will be added to the list that is entitled to one day of paid leave.
- Employees with five weeks of vacation can take one week in single days.
