First Choice Beverage ratifies wage increases and language improvements with new collective agreement for industrial food and beverage workers.

First Choice Beverage Inc in Mississauga ratified a three-year agreement on October 13, 2024.

The deal secures wage increases for members of: Date of Ratification:  2%, Year 2 – 2.5%, and Year 3 – 2.5%. Prior to any increases, all workers who are in progression will be moved to the end rate. Additionally, there will be a one-time special wage adjustment for the maintenance department and jug filler classification. Employees hired prior to 2019 will also receive a signing bonus.

Language improvements include:

  • Shoe allowance increases to $120/year or employees may opt to spend up to $225 which would cover them for two years.
  • Bereavement leave improvement of four paid bereavement days for an immediate family member (spouse, domestic partner, parent, grandparent, child) and two paid days for extended family member (aunt, uncle, niece, nephew).
  • The employer will replace broken or worn tools at no cost to employee.
  • Overtime will be distributed based on seniority provided the employee has the skill and ability.
  • Workers will have the right to withdraw a resignation for up to 48 hours.
