Sodexo members in Oakville ratify three-year agreement

Recently, members of the UFCW Local 175 bargaining unit at Sodexo Canada in Oakville ratified a new collective agreement that will see them through the next three years. 

The seven full-time and 23 part-time employees will benefit from negotiated wage increases of 3% in year one and 3% in year two. In the third year, Sodexo members will receive a 2% increase in March, and a 1% increase in October. Members also benefit from a new shift premium of $1 per hour for Team Lead. 

The Union Negotiating Committee secured enhanced uniform provisions for the members as well as an improved shoe allowances of $125, up from $100, and vision care coverage of $300 per 24-month period, up from $250. 

Paid sick leave improves to two days per year, up from one, and bereavement entitlement now includes provisions for the death of a niece or nephew.
