Parrish & Heimbecker ratifies yearly wage increases and language improvements with new contract.

The membership employed by Parrish & Heimbecker working at Goderich Elevators, ratified a three-year agreement on August 14, 2024. Members will receive wage increase of 9.75% over the term of the contract. There will be a new lead hand premium introduced and workers will receive a $500 signing bonus.

The premiums for benefits will not increase for a period of two years, and there will be an increase to the Short-Term disability payment amount.

Language improvements include:

  • An increase of one sick day.
  • Improved language with regard to layoff/closure.
  • Standby pay increased.
  • Vacation that is earned and paid out will now be visible to employees.
  • Workers will be paid even when overtime shift cancelled.
