Over 150 workers at Ashley Homestore vote to join UFCW Local 175
UFCW Local 175 has welcomed over 150 new members following a successful organizing campaign at Ashley Homestore in Mississauga. The workers held strong through a difficult campaign and with their successful vote, they now have UFCW Local 175 standing with them to ensure they will be safe and supported when they go to work.

On March 26, 2025, UFCW Local 175 welcomed over 150 new members following a successful organizing campaign at Ashley Homestore in Mississauga.
The workers held strong through a difficult campaign and with their successful vote, they now have UFCW Local 175 standing with them to ensure they will be safe and supported when they go to work. Key concerns of the membership included feeling disrespected and undervalued leading to a lack of dignity in the workplace. Workers also brought forth health and safety concerns as well as an unrealistic workload, and issues concerning WSIB.
The new members at Ashley Homestore are employed across different positions including repairs, drivers, and in the warehouse.
“Joining a union isn’t just about better pay or benefits—it’s about standing together to demand respect and fairness, and to have a voice in the decisions that shape our lives,” said President Kelly Tosato. “The true strength of our Union lies in the courage and solidarity of our members standing as one.”
These workers now begin the process of negotiating their first collective agreement as members of UFCW Local 175. Going forward, they will be working toward securing better wages, job security, benefits, and scheduling, and improving the overall level of respect and dignity in the workplace.
