The 11 members of UFCW Local 175 working at Northcrest Lanes in Sault Ste. Marie have ratified a new three-year collective agreement.

In this new agreement, members working as servers will benefit from the introduction of portable debit machines. This was an important advancement for these members that will allow for easier transactions and improve tips for their service.

The Union Negotiating Committee secured improvements to the Minimum Wage plus (MW+) language that will provide an additional $.25 – $0.50 over the minimum wage rate depending on classification. With the province’s rate going up by $.40 per hour as of October 1, 2025, this improvement means members will see between $.65 and $.90 per hour more. Further increases will reflect the MW+ grid as the provincial minimum wage improves.

Members will also benefit from a new training premium which pays $1 per hour on top of their regular rate, and a new footwear allowance of $100.
