Members in Oshawa at Freshco unanimously ratify a new three-year deal

Freshco Wentworth & Cedar members unanimously ratified a new three-year agreement on March 31, 2023.

Wages of top rate full-time members will increase: Year – $.60, Year 2 – $.50 and Year 3 – $.50. Full time members will receive a $500 lump sum payment upon ratification.

Part time top rate wages increase: 2023 – $0.25, 2024- $0.25 and 2025- $0.20. Part-time lump sum payments as follows: +5001 hours – $250, 2001 and 5001 hours – $200, 1001 and 2001 hours- $150 and $50 for members with less than 1001 hours worked.

Benefit improvements will see the employer paying 100% of dispensing fees.

Other improvements include:

  • Increase in eye glass coverage from $200 to $250.
  • Increase 1 sick day for full time.
  • National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be added to the list of paid holidays.
  • Increase in bereavement leave from 3 to 5 days.
  • Contribution to the Training and Education Fund will increase from $500 to $750.
  • Increase to the shoe allowance from $115 to $200.
