Members at Dr. Oetker ratify agreement bringing an end to week-long strike

The members of UFCW Local 175 at Dr. Oetker ratified the memorandum of settlement yesterday by 62%, bringing an end to their strike action which began on February 16, 2022.

Tentative agreement reached at Dr. Oetker
At 3 p.m. on February 22, 2022, the parties reached a tentative agreement that the UFCW Local 175 members at Dr. Oetker will vote on tomorrow, February 23, 2022.
The members at Dr. Oetker in London have been on strike since Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

At a vote on Saturday, February 12, UFCW Local 175 members at the Dr. Oetker plant in London, Ontario, rejected the final offer put forth by the company.
In November 2021, the members at Dr. Oetker gave their Negotiating Committee a strike mandate of 88%. The committee returned to the bargaining table seeking equal increases across the board for the employees at the plant, as well as higher wage increases in each year of the proposed agreement term.
With the rejection of the company final offer, the members began legal strike action at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16.
The plant currently employs approximately 251 unionized employees who belong to UFCW Local 175.
