Kerry’s Place members ratify improved wage grid, rate increases, and more
October 29, 2026
UFCW Local 175 members at Kerry’s Place in Pickering achieved a new collective agreement at a ratification vote on October 23, 2026.
The Union Negotiating Committee worked hard to achieve significant improvements to the wage grid. The result of that hard work is that the first two levels on the grid have been removed and our members’ base rates will be moved to a higher rate of pay.
On top of this, members will see annual increases to those rates including 1.5% in year one, 1.75% in year two, and another 1.75% in year three. The first-year increase will also be paid retroactively for hours worked since the expiry of the previous collective agreement.
Further monetary improvements include mileage reimbursement of $0.50, up from $0.45, per kilometre, and a signing bonus of $50 for part-time and $100 for full-time.
Meal per diems also improve to:
- $10, up from $8, for Breakfast;
- $15, up from $12, for Lunch;
- $22, up from $20, for Dinner.

The members at Kerry’s Place also secured improved bereavement entitlement of three days, up from two, for the death of a grandchild, and two days, up from one, for the death of a grandparent.
Other language improvements now provide part-time employees with 12.5 hours of paid sick leave per year. The employer has also agreed to provide a reason should they award a shift in error, and to provide menstrual products at the work site for employees.
Members at Kerry’s Place provide autism services for the community.
Union Negotiating Committee: Khadijah Ebanks, La Forna Mckie, Kunle Oladinedo, and Union Representative Meemee Seto.
