UFCW Local 175 bargaining unit members at Pepsi in London have achieved a new three-year collective agreement.

The Union Negotiating Committee achieved a solid new agreement that secures improved wages and route picking language – both of which were items sought by the membership.

Members will see across-the-board wage increases of $1.10 per hour in year one, $1.05 per hour in year two, and $1 per hour in year three. In addition, a market wage adjustment of additional $0.83 per hour will apply to employees classified as Merchandiser, Interplant Shipper, and PES. And employees in the Mechanic classification will receive a market wage adjustment of $1.50 per hour.

Shift premiums improve to $1.25 per hour and the Lead Hand premium will improve in each year of the agreement to reach a rate of $1.50 per hour by the third year. Members will now be reimbursed for the cost of A-Z testing, and an improved tool allowance now provides of $400.

Negotiated language improvements cover bidding of delivery routes and improved route picking as well. Further, members will benefit from the deletion of continental shifts, and an additional floater day.

Parental language now provides two days’ paid leave for having a child born or adopted, and bereavement entitlement now includes step-children and step-parents in the provisions.

Union Negotiating Committee: Terry Johnson, Mark Sop, Bob Trodden, Eric Wimperis, and Union Representative Fred Teeple.
