Good Humor Breyers ratifies a new deal to secure increases to wages and premiums, and improvements to CBA language.

Members in Simcoe working at Unilever Canada Inc, Good Humor-Breyers, ratified a three-year agreement on September 5, 2024. Wages will increase for all classifications in Year 1 – $1.10, Year -2 $.90 and Year 3 -$.85. Maintenance Mechanic & Refrigeration operator will receive an additional $1.35/hour in year one.

The tier 2 wage grid will receive a wage adjustment of $1.10 over the term of the agreement, bridging half of the second-tier wages and closing the gap further on two-tier wages. A significant achievement for these workers.

Good Humor ratifies

Premiums will also increase:

  • Relief Operator – $1.00 per hour,
  • D license from $.35 to $.75 per hour,
  • Afternoon premium from $.60 to $.75 per hour,
  • Evening premium from $.75 to $.90 per hour,
  • Forklift operators – $.20 per hour,
  • NEW – Technical cold room palletizer – $1.50 per hour,
  • NEW – Quality Control – $1.50 per hour.

Benefit coverage will increase for physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage, orthotics and compression stockings.

Language improvements include:

  • Optical coverage increased from $400 to $450.
  • Tool allowance from $200 to $325 yearly.
  • Sanitation operators’ tools allowance from $25 to $50.
  • Incentive bonus for perfect attendance.
  • T&E fund improvement from $750 to $1000.
  • Step mother and step father will be added to bereavement leave.
  • Improved vacation language
