Gensteel Doors ratifies wage increases and language improvements for workers in Cornwall.

Members working at Gensteel Doors in Cornwall unanimously ratified a three-year agreement on November 14, 2024.

All full-time employees with one year of service will receive the following increases: Year 1 – $.75, Year 2 – $.70, and Year 3 – $.70 per hour. Effective October 28, 2024 all employees with a minimum of seven years of service will receive an additional hourly premium of $.65 per hour. Upon completion of the probation period, the General Labourer rate will not be less than Minimum Wage +$0.65

Language improvements include:

  • The safety boot allowance will increase to $110.00.
  • The employer will meet each year on or about November 1st, to discuss possible options of working during the Christmas shutdown.
  • The ability for employees to receive the forklift premium for their entire shift at 50 cents per hour has been improved.
