Delta Waterfront ratifies new collective agreement for workers in Sault Ste. Marie with wage increases, paid personal days and improved language.

The hospitality workers at Delta Hotel Waterfront in Sault Ste. Marie ratified a two-year agreement on September 15, 2024.

Delta Waterfront ratifies

The new deal secures wage increases of 9% over the term of the collective agreement for all non-gratuity earning positions (Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Kitchen).  The first increase will be 5% and will be retroactive to July 6, 2024 with increases every six months. Workers in gratuity earning positions (Servers, Bartenders, Banquet Attendants) will receive wage increases of 7.5% over the term and the first increase will be 4% retroactive to July 6, 2024.

Language improvements include:

  • NEW – Two paid personal days added for full-time.
  • Training premium increased from $1.00/hour to $1.50/hour.
  • Improved Bereavement Leave language.
  • Shoe allowance increased from $60 to $75.
  • Safety boot allowance increased from $110 to $12
