UFCW Locals 175 & 633 - Cintas Sault Ste. MarieOn April 18, 2018, full-time employees at Cintas Canada in Sault Ste. Marie ratified a new agreement that will see them through early 2021.

The agreement includes wage increases of 2% in each year. Contributions to the members’ pension plan increase over the life of the contract. The rate will reach $1.15 per hour worked by March 1, 2020.

Members benefit from an improved work boot allowance as well, which increases from $135, to $150, and then to $160 in the third year. In addition, vacation entitlement now provides five weeks after 23 years of service, which is especially important for two members at the workplace with significant seniority. Language improvements address grievance and arbitration provisions, plus amendments made to labour laws by Bill 148.

Lastly, the employer agreed to contribute $500 per year toward the UFCW Local 175 Training & Education Fund.
