On June 26, 2026, the members of UFCW Local 175 at Cargill Limited in Brampton secured a new collective agreement.

Following a tough round of bargaining where the employer tabled concessions, the Union Negotiating Committee sought the assistance of a conciliator to achieve a solid agreement to bring back to the membership.

The meal allowance for members working in excess of two hours more than their scheduled shift improves to $20, up from $14. Part-time employees are now eligible for a boot allowance.

Vision care benefits now cover $450, up from $400, per 24-month period. Survivor coverage for spouse and eligible dependents improves to 12 months at no cost to the employee. The new agreement also adds an additional floater day, bringing members to two per year.

Other language improvements include extending recall rights for those employees laid off in April of 2025 to 24 months instead of 12 months. Members also secured language that ensures pre-approved partial day absences will not count as emergency days.

The collective agreement at Cargill covers more than 60 members, including both full and part-time, at the Brampton facility.

Union Negotiating Committee: Ella Bryan, William Chedraui, Easton Edwards, and Union Representative Christopher Mayberry.
