Bunge in Hamilton ratifies significant wage increases and improvements to contract language and benefits with new deal.

The industrial food workers at Bunge in Hamilton ratified a three-year agreement on October 30, 2025. This deal secures yearly wage increases for members who will see wages improve 12.5% over the term of the contract. The shift premium will also increase by 10 cents per hour.

The employer contribution to the pension will increase $1.00 in each year.

Benefit improvements include an increase to the STD benefit of 4% every year, the life insurance benefit will increase from $100,000 to $110,000 and the ODA fee guide will be updated every year.

Other language improvements include:

  • Eye exam coverage increases from $90 to $100.
  • Eyeglass coverage increases $350 to $375.
  • Bereavement language will include miscarriage.
  • There will be the addition of an extra Floater Day.
  • The Tool allowance increases by $25.00.
  • Severance pay language improves to remove the 26-week cap and start at year one.
