Broadview Nursing Home ratifies

Broadview Nursing Home ratifies wage increases, sought after additional float day and language improvements with new collective agreement.
The healthcare workers at Broadview Nursing Home in Smith Falls unanimously ratified a two-year agreement on April 3, 2025. Wages for the HOPE Sector members will increase by 7% over the term of the contract. There will also be top up payments on April 3, 2025 of 25 cents per hour for PSWs and $2.50 per hour for RPNs.
The employer contribution to the pension plan will increase by 1 cent per hour improving the rate of return for members.
Language improvements include:
- Servicing language will now allow for access to the members on night and evening shift.
- There will be an additional float day for all members.
- The weekend premium will increase by 10 cents.
- All staff who have to complete reports or med counts, which they come in early for will be paid 15 minutes extra per shift.
