Briton House Retirement Ratifies

Briton House retirement ratifies wage increases and language improvements with new contract.
Briton House Retirement workers in Toronto ratified a two-year agreement on June 7, 2024. The members will receive wage increases of 7% over the term of the agreement, and there will be an increase to the weekend shift premium of an additional 10 cents.
Language improvements include:
- Full-time will receive an additional sick day.
- The collective agreement language will reflect gender neutrality.
- ORCA (Ontario Retirement Communities Association) training will be scheduled during working hours, and it will be the responsibility of the employer to schedule this time.
- There will be a $25 increase to the uniform allowance for both full and part-time.
