Briton House Retirement Centre members ratify

Recently, the 115 unionized healthcare workers at the Briton House Retirement Centre in Toronto secured a new three-year collective agreement.
The ratified agreement will provide Briton House members with an initial increase of 3.5%, which will be paid retroactive for hours worked since the expiry of the previous agreement. Members will then receive a 3% raise in year two, and another 3% raise in year three.
Members will see further money put back into their pockets with negotiated increases to the uniform allowance – now $200 for full-time and $140 for part-time – plus reimbursement of up to $50 for medical certificates.
The members at Briton House are part of UFCW Local 175’s dedicated Health, Office, and Professional Employees (HOPE) Sector. Our HOPE Sector Representatives are experts in dealing with healthcare employers on a day-to-day basis and at the bargaining table.
