Avis Budget Inc. Ottawa’s new agreement will acknowledge the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

On November 3, 2021 the members in Ottawa at Avis Budget Inc. ratified a new three-year collective agreement. Wage improvements are as follows: current employees on the wage grid will receive an increase of 1.5% at ratification across all classifications.  Members will also receive 2.5% in years two and three.

Lump sum payments will be made to full-time workers in the amount of $300 and part-time will receive $200.00 to be paid within two pay periods following ratification. Lead employees and airport expeditors premium increases to $1.25. A new wage scale that takes into consideration the minimum wage increase announced for January 2022.

Language improvements will see:

  • the severance pay for full-time increased to 1.5 weeks per year of service for a total of thirty nine weeks
  • no employee will work more than five hours without a break
  • increase to safety boot allowance to $125.00 per year

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be added to the list of paid holidays.
