United Latinos Meeting 2026

Empowering Voices and Leadership: UFCW Locals 175 & 633 Celebrate Unity at the United Latinos Meeting

On October 21–22, 2026, the UFCW Canada National Office hosted the annual United Latinos Meeting right here in Toronto. The two-day gathering brought together UFCW Canada President Barry Sawyer, local leadership, representatives, dedicated members, and special guests to connect, collaborate, and engage in vital discussions surrounding the growing impact of the Latino movement within Canada’s labour landscape.

Representatives from UFCW Locals 175 & 633 were proud to participate and showcase the hard work, resilience, and vital contributions of our Latino members across Ontario.

Driving Inclusivity, Leadership, and Advocacy
The United Latinos Meeting served as a powerful space for shared experiences and collective action aimed at strengthening Latinx leadership and representation across our union. Key discussions throughout the event focused on:

• Advancing Migrant Workers’ Rights: Addressing the unique challenges faced by migrant workers and championing stronger protections and fairness.
• Workplace Health & Safety: Ensuring every worker has a safe, secure, and equitable environment on the job.
• Community & Representation: Amplifying Latinx voices within union leadership and exploring new opportunities for legislative and grassroots advocacy.

Stronger Together Through Solidarity
Events like the United Latinos Meeting reinforce the core truth of the labour movement: we are at our strongest when we stand united. Through solidarity, active collaboration, and shared goals, UFCW Locals 175 & 633 remain dedicated to breaking down barriers, elevating diverse voices, and securing better working conditions for all workers across Ontario and Canada.

As we look toward a more inclusive and equitable future for our members and communities, we carry the energy of this meeting forward.

Because together… ¡Sí Se Puede!
