Members at the Maple Leaf Foods Tool Shop (Maple Leaf Foods Inc. – MTC) in Burlington secured a new collective agreement on August 6, 2026.

While this round of bargaining for the members at the Maple Leaf Foods Tool Shop was focused on wages, members will also benefit from a number of other improvements. This includes language to maintain the existing shift schedules for current employees.

The first year of the agreement will bring a substantial rate increase of $3.39 per hour, effective the date of ratification. And over the remaining term of the collective agreement, members will see further increases totalling $2.10 per hour.

A new premium will pay employees who are Dual Ticketed an additional $1 per hour. The employer will also now pay for license certifications and renewals.

Further language improvements include an increase to the Short-Term Disability (STD) benefit which now stands at a maximum of 52 weeks for all employees.
