Gail Jackson – Your Independant Grocer

Gail Jackson works at Stevens’ YIG in Bracebridge in PC Express as Department Head, and has been at the store for more than 27 years. It’s the people Gail works with and sees everyday that makes the work so enjoyable.

Gail appreciates being a member of a Union as it levels the playing field and Gail says “I like the fact that I personally had to use the Union and it was there for me and anyone else who needs it.  Gail also appreciates the education and information the Union provides and says “At first, I wanted to know the information for myself and then I wanted to share that with anyone who came and asked me. Knowledge is power.”

Gail has been a steward for 26 years, and took on the role to help others. Gail says the best part of the job is “being able to help people, give information and make their life a little easier. The biggest challenge is engaging members and getting them to understand what the Union is about and how they can help themselves.”
