Rosie Power – Food Basics Ottawa

Rosie Power is a grocery clerk at Food Basics Greenbank in Ottawa. Rosie has been a member since February 2022 and says “I like working in a Unionized workplace knowing that there is a collective agreement in place and health benefits,” which are a priority for Rosie as a single mother. She also likes the other opportunities provided by the Union including the annual scholarships, discounts for members and the online web campus courses that give her the opportunity to access training when and where she can with her full-time schedule.

Rosie say’s “you feel secure knowing that if there is an issue with the employer you have access to a steward and Union rep to resolve a problem.” Rosie is recognized in the workplace for always having a smile and a positive attitude even during the busiest times.
