Solidarity Scholarship Application

The 2026 Solidarity Scholarship application window is open.

Please note that only winners will be notified and will be required to provide proof that they are registered and attending in the current school year. The Training & Education Committee will notify the winners by email and a list will be published to the website.

Deadline to apply is August 1, 2026.

To be eligible, the applicant or applicant’s parent/step-parent/legal guardian must be a member in good standing of either Local 175 or Local 633 for at least six consecutive months in the current calendar year. The Education Committee will verify this when processing each application.
Winners chosen must provide proof of full-time enrollment at a recognized post-secondary institution prior to receiving the scholarship.
Full-time enrollment must be for the 2026-27 school year with the student enrolled in classes between September to December 2026.
Winners will be required to provide their social insurance number in order to receive the money as these earnings are required to be reported to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Money will be paid by email money transfer.
Winners’ names will be published in Checkout magazine, at ufcw175.com, and on the Union’s social media platforms.

Applications will be accepted between June 1 and August 1, 2026.
