Colonial Retirement Home HLDAA award secures wage and other monetary increases in new contract.
In an award dated June 25, 2024, Local 175 HOPE Sector members at The Colonial Retirement Home in Whitby secured a two-year collective agreement through the Hospital Labour Disputes Arbitration Act (HLDAA).
Details of the decision include:
- Members will receive wage increases of 6.75% over the two-year term.
- Increase for the RRSP matching contribution from 1% to2 %.
- Employer contributions to the benefit plan increased from 95% to 100%.
- Vision care coverage will increase by $50 every 24 months.
- An additional week of vacation entitlement was gained for a 6th week at 22 years.
- There will be a NEW evening premium of $0.15/hr.
- The weekend premium will increase from $0.10/hr to $ 0.20/hr.
