Richmond Retirement – HLDAA Award

Members at Richmond Retirement achieve new contract through HLDAA.
Local 175 HOPE Sector members at The Richmond Retirement Residence in Belleville secured a two-year collective agreement awarded through the Hospital Labour Disputes Arbitration Act (HLDAA) on November 14, 2025.
The award secures general wage increases for the members of 3.5% in each year of the contract.
There will also be wage adjustments on November 1, 2024 for RPNs – $2.00/hour, Cooks – $1.00/hour and HCAs/PSWs – 30 cents/hour.
The focus was on wages for this round of negotiations, and we were able to achieve super normative increases at HLDAA. The wage adjustments are also substantial for a single round of bargaining.
As the award was received after the expiry of the contract, as is common with the HLDAA process, after this excellent decision, we are right back in bargaining again to keep pushing for the improvements these members deserve.
