Milo Fais ratifies to achieve significant wage increases with improvements to benefits and language with new collective agreement.

Milo-Fais in Wheatley ratified a six-year agreement on February 12, 2025. The members in Cold Storage will receive wage increases in Year 1: Tier One – $1.50, Tier 2 – $3.56 retroactive to expiry.  Engineering: Year 1 – $2.36 retroactive to expiry.

There will be an additional 2% wage increase in each year of the agreement for all classifications

Benefit improvements:

  • The employer will pay 100% of the cost of health and welfare benefits for all workers.
  • Weekly indemnity increased to $550.00 up from $320.00 per week.
  • The employer dental contribution increased to $0.47/hour up from $0.41/hour

Language improvements include:

  • The Boot Allowance increased from $125.00 to $250.00 annually.
  • Shift premium increases: Afternoons from $0.26 to $0.30 cents per hour, and Midnights from $0.42 to $0.45 per hour.
  • Overtime will be paid at time and one half for all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday regardless of hours worked during the week.

The two-tier wage grid has nearly been eliminated with this round of negotiations.
