Metro Lasalle ratifies to secure wage increases, shift premiums and language gains for grocery workers in Sudbury.
The retail grocery workers in Sudbury at Metro Lasalle ratified a four-year agreement on August 11, 2025.
Full-time members at end rate will receive wage increases of $3.25 per hour over the term, as well as improved Minimum Wage+ language, and mid rate grids. Part-time at end rate will increase to Minimum Wage+ $2.40 by the end of the contract.
We were successful in achieving comprehensive part-time benefits for all workers who have completed one year of service and 22 hours average weekly.
Language improvements include:
- Sick pay for part-time increases to 24 hours.
- We have achieved shift premiums for U-Scan, Courtesy Desk, Receiving, Assistant manager replacement, and night work.
- Entitlement to The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
- Improvement to the Boot allowance.
- Addition of language to enable department transfer, cross training, and modernizing the agreement.
