Roland Guieb – Maple Leaf Poultry London

Roland Guieb is a machine operator in the boning department at Maple Leaf poultry in London, a processing plant that employs 1700 UFCW members. Roland started with Maple Leaf at the St. Mary facility and has been a member for 20 years. Roland enjoys the benefits of being a UFCW member and the right to collective bargaining, health benefits, increased wages, seniority rights and job security. 

Roland has been a steward for seven years and was appointed as Chief Steward in March of 2024. Roland became involved with the Union to stand up for members rights in the workplace. He says that the greatest challenge of being a steward is trying to maintain a positive relationship with the employer and dealing with unruly supervisors.
