On May 1st, health care providers at the Bayfield Retirement Lodge in Penetanguishene voted to join the Union.
The 16 new members of Local 175’s HOPE Sector work as Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) and Personal Support Workers (PSWs). The workers cited Health and Safety concerns, scheduling, wages, staffing, absence of sick days and seniority rights as their reasons for contacting the union.
These workers are looking forward to having their proposal meetings and getting bargaining for their first contract underway.
Welcome to Your Union!
