First collective agreement ratified by Dynacare workers who achieved increases after difficult negotiations with U.S. based employer
Dynacare workers in Hamilton, Burlington, Kitchener and Niagara Falls ratified a first collective agreement with a three-year term on March 3, 2024.
After a difficult set of bargaining, we are happy to report that the workers at Dynacare now have the protections and benefits of a collective agreement.
Members will receive wages increases in Year 1: 3.5%, Year 2: 3%, and Year 3: 3%.
There will be lump sum payments within 30 days of ratification for part-time: $300, full-time: $500 and full-time with 20+ years of service: $750.
We were also successful in negotiating language to retain the existing plans in place for pension and benefits.
Other improvements include paid parking for all members and unless by mutual agreement some of the senior members will not be scheduled to work weekends.
Union negotiating committee: Gita Ahmadi, Sherri Edge, and Christine Lampman. HOPE Community Director: Mike Mattioli, Union representatives: Nabeela Irfan and Hodan Wais.
